Andrea has been working behind the scenes, creating some of the social media content for the studio and helping to ensure your online voices are heard. Andrea decided to respond to our call for new reception staff as she saw it as a great opportunity to see another side of the business and chat with more guests. So, please strike up a conversation with her next time you are in studio! Fun fact: Did you know that Andrea’s friends used to have to tell her to be quiet when she was chatting up a storm while running during track and field practice in high school? In addition to running along the canal, Andrea also gets her fitness fix with weight lifting, Ultimate Frisbee and of course, dancing alone in her living room pretending to be Beyoncé 😉 Don’t we all!? Must be from her musical theatre and dance background from high school.
Barre came to be the perfect outlet where she could get her sweat on, and her dance on, while lifting weights with fellow “barre-belles.” Two years ago, inspired by her good friend’s body AND spirit transformation and her overall love of the #barrelife in Vancouver, Andrea decided to
immerse herself completely and commit to 30 consecutive days of barre. At this end of this personal challenge, she was hooked. Almost 150 classes later, she is thrilled to share her love of barre, whether it be online, with friends or now, at reception.
When not at the barre, she adores her career in international development that takes her to amazing locations. In her spare time, Andrea travels more, advocates for voiceless animals, has a monthly wine club with friends, volunteers at the Ottawa Mission serving breakfast and also really loves cooking vegetarian meals at home and making weekly runs to HomeSense for cookware! Ask her for a great vegetarian recipe!
